Obedience Classes at B.A.R.K. Institute
At BARK Institute we offer group classes on an unlimited basis. These classes are open slots for you to come learn and weekly. You and your pup must test (show off your skills!) out of each level to move onto the next class. Group classes are a great time for building neutrality to other dogs and people, while learning from watching others.
**If this will be your first time attending BARK Institute with your pup please schedule a complimentary evaluation so we can decide which class would be best for you to start with.
$1100 for 6 months of unlimited classes
$65 single day drop in
Kindergarten - 6 months old and younger
This class will include: puppy raising education and take home information, conditioning markers, food luring, basic positions, beginnings of "place", recall foundations, engagement games, name recognition, greeting people politely, puppy play time, confidence building/exposure and more
Elementary School - 6 months and older
This class will include: loose leash walking, house manners, engagement and play, basic positions, recall, "place", human socialization, Canine Good Citizen prep, "leave it", sit to greet, heeling with automatic sit, dog social time if applicable, continued exposure/confidence building and more.
Middle School
This class includes all tasks needed to pass the Canine Good Citizen test- accepting friendly strangers, sitting politely for petting, permitting grooming, finished loose leash walking including automatic sit when halting, walking politely through a crowd, ignoring another dog on leash, finished recall, dog being left with another handler and remaining calm.
Complete/finish puppy skills: sit, down, place, come into heel position, recall with distractions, out/drop it
continue engagement games and proper play, grooming and veterinary handling and more
must pass CGC test to move onto highschool
Highschool
This class is the beginning of our two advanced classes. This class includes position changes, beginning of off leash heeling, pace changes, stays with distractions, stay with owner out of sight, emergency down at a distance, holding place under distractions, continued environmental exposures/confidence building, veterinary and grooming handling and more
Must past CGCA test to move onto College
College
The final group class for our most advanced K9 - entirely off leash trained! This class will finish and proof off leash walking/hiking. Position changes close and at a distance, duration place, emergency downs, perfect patient veterinary and grooming handling, public access manners and more
